Earth Day = Funsies

I love Earth Day. We (Nate, Lauren, Jeremy, Becka and I) had a fun picnic complete with sandwiches, fruit, chips, hummus and smoothies. We hung out under a couple of big trees in the shade and watched Dakota run around. I've decided there are some fun things we should plan for next year.

- I want a t-shirt that says "Hug a tree, it's Earth Day!"
- We can bring a frisbee to toss around.
- Tree climbing! :)
- Tree planting! One or two or three...
- A picnic basket...a big one.
- Crafts that involve recycling old stuff.
- Pictures...we did that this year too, but they're still a requirement.
- Etc. Because most everything follows these types of things.

Of course, you should avoid littering and recycle every day...Earth Day is the day you celebrate doing those things! Hooray for God's creation!

I have found
that the sky is not always
crystalclearprettyblue
and at night
the stars don't always show

One sense fails & others flounder
Clouds come and clouds go
questiondoubtfeelings
clarity is
fleeting and unreliable

grown up?
growing confusion

Who knows?
He knows

I hide behind the clouds

Whirlwinds

I set up this new blog and then neglected to post anything. The main reason for such procrastination is a bad internet connection where I was and the whirlwind of preparing to go back home. I was visiting my family up North.

I'm ready to get back in action, though. After graduating I "took some time off." The simple meaning of that being I was worn out and needed to recover before hunting down a job. But now I feel so rested that I'm feeling almost jittery because I'm so ready to actually move. I'll dive into a job search and have the energy to turn in applications. I want to get up and do things. I'll run, do yoga, paint, take pictures, read (that's not really moving but it gets my brain actually functioning), and all kinds of other things. All in reasonable amounts, with the job thing top priority. Mostly I've been finding a need to feel healthy again. Not just physically, even though it's a big one, but mentally and spiritually as well. I want to be doing things that stimulate all areas of healthiness. I'm even writing out a plan so it will help to achieve such goals. Everything is uphill in a good way and that's really a good feeling.

However, right now I'm feeling pretty tired from being on a plane a lot today and it being quite late. I have to get up and distribute applications tomorrow. I promise this blog will get much more interesting, I just didn't want to keep leaving it as a blog with no words.

Love!Lex
